Why are a few of the AC component manufacturers
saying that they will void warranties if any other refrigerant is
used except R-12 or R-134A?
There are alternative refrigerants being
marketed today that contain dangerous hydrocarbons and/or blends of
R-22 that may damage seals and hoses. Freeze 12 does not contain either
hydrocarbons or R-22. Unfortunately, no distinction has been made
by these compressor manufacturers between Freeze 12 and other alternative
refrigerants.
We have confidence in Freeze 12's cooling
performance and its ability to perform in AC systems over long periods
of time without detrimental effects. Freeze 12 was extensively bench
and field tested before it was marketed to the public. There is no
evidence in our laboratory tests, field tests, or in real world results
that indicate Freeze 12 is harmful to AC system components. In fact,
our test results indicate that Freeze 12 may actually extend compressor
and component life because of its lower operating pressures.
If your compressor warranty
is rejected because you used Freeze 12, we recommend that you ask
the manufacturer for their test results or documentation that shows
the compressor was damaged by using Freeze 12. If they can show that
Freeze12 caused the compressor failure, Johnsen's will warranty the
compressor.
